Reason 1:
Not expensive to buy - and not expensive to maintain ! |

Times are lean,
and capital purchases are a major concern for any company. Smartcards are no
longer a niche market, and this should be reflected in the price of tools.
Some companies however, still sell very expensive tools.
Moreover, once
you've bought a product, you find it costs just as much to keep it up to date.
If you choose not to pay, then you've effectively written off the product as
it is now obsolete.

Quantaq's approach is entirely
different. All our products are priced below GBP 1,000 and they all come with
a 1 year warranty and support package. This provides you with bug fixes and
also new features free of charge. Moreover, if one of our customers finds a
bug, we fix it for all customers, not just them. And we fix it quickly (within
2-3 weeks historically).
We don't expect
to buy our products until you have used them and decide they're exactly what
you need. It is for this reason Quantaq provides fully-functional 30-day
evaluation licenses to prospective corporate customers.

Reason 2:
Easy to set up
and very user-friendly ! |

More often than
not, the equipment is needed at short notice for important analysis or
testing. However some equipment takes some time to set up - there is a lot of
cabling and if the host PC is playing up, there is no easy way to use that equipment on another PC.
If the person who
usually operates the equipment is on holiday and the software is not
intuitive, you may have no option, but to place a support call. This eats up
time very quickly.
You simply want to
send a few commands to the smartcard, but in order to use certain tools it
seems that you'll need a course in Java first!

Here
at Quantaq, we make sure all our products "work straight out of the
box". All that is required is a standard PC/SC card reader and
you're running!
If your PC is playing
up, simply install the software onto another PC - it takes less than 5
minutes to change PC and our no-nonsense license policy allows you to do
this so long as each license is operating on a single PC at any given
time.
Usability is the main
focus for Quantaq. We've seen too many "written by engineers for
engineers" products. What is required is an intuitive design
so that any level-headed person with minimal smartcard knowledge can get
going quickly and painlessly.

Reason 3:
Totally reliable !! |

The more
complicated a piece of kit is, the more likely it is to fail when you
need it most.
Looking at
the size, weight and complexity of some supplier's products, if it
breaks, you're probably looking at a few days before you get a
replacement or repair. This is typically longer than you have got.
Some
companies pack in the technical functionality, thinking that this is
what the market requires. The trouble is, the resulting overly-complex
and unwieldy software will likely have bugs, which usually manifest
themselves when you need the kit most!. |

"If
it's not seen to be reliable, it won't be used" - this is our
experience of any tool. We therefore make sure our tools are totally reliable. We do this in
3 ways:
(i) We use only
the minimum hardware necessary - it most cases this is a standard card
reader - in the extremely unlikely event of that failing, it's easy to
get a replacement
(ii) We keep the
software as simple as possible, which helps make it intuitive. We only
build in more complex features if they will actually be used (that's
where our many years of testing experience comes in) (iii)
We keep the price down so you can buy more than one unit - this gives
you options in the unlikely event that one should fail |

This is
direct result of expensive equipment in the first place. If
it was cheaper you could buy a number of units (perhaps one for each
building) instead of one. |
